Prime Minister for improvement of infrastructure at Murree

Islamabad, February 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that Murree holds touristic significance and its heritage needs to be preserved along with improvement in existing infrastructure. He said this while chairing a review meeting on improvement of facilities at Murree that was held in the PM House today. PM was briefed about restoration of old sites, solid waste management, traffic situation and existing tourism facilities at Murree.

Prime Minister issued directions that old buildings having historic significance at Murree be restored to their original shape. He further instructed that special attention should be paid to traffic management so as to facilitate tourists and emphasized on regular maintenance of roads.

While referring to the natural resources, PM directed the Forest Department that deforestation should not be allowed at any cost. PM also issued instructions not to allow any kind of illegal development activities and directed removal of illegal building structures.

The meeting was attended by Minister Information Senator Parvaiz Rashid, Special Assistant to PM Khwaja Zaheer Ahmed, MNA Mr. Hamza Shahbaz, Political Secretary to PM Dr. Asif Saeed Kirmani, senior officers from Punjab Government and Murree administration.
