Karachi, April 30, 2019 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Stock Exchange and Make A Wish Foundation joined hands to welcome 15 children to the Exchange and to open the trading day through the Gong ceremony. Make A Wish Foundation is a philanthropic organisation which runs on the premise of granting wishes to children who are seriously ill or have some serious disease.
The idea is to provide some form of entertainment to the children and to bring to them the much needed relief that they need in their lives as they fight their ailments. The children draw strength and pleasure from these activities which are arranged by Make a Wish Foundation in collaboration with other organisations and philanthropic bodies. The visits and programs provide for an avenue of hope and good memories for the children and their parents accompanying them.
For the gong ceremony, the children were received by the management of PSX including Mr Richard Morin, MD PSX. It was a good opportunity to give them a view of the Exchange in person. Mr. Richard Morin, welcoming the guests, said, “It is a pleasure to have the children of Make A Wish Foundation come here today and provide us, at Pakistan Stock Exchange, an opportunity to play its due role for social responsibility and welfare“. He added, “As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Pakistan Stock Exchange strives to make every effort to make a difference, for the better, in the lives of the people of our society in particular and our environment in general. Hosting children of Make a Wish Foundation today is a particularly pleasant and rewarding experience for us”.
The children were presented with gifts from PSX which they were very happy to receive. The staff, parents of the children, and the children themselves were appreciative of the management of the Stock Exchange for having provided them the opportunity to visit this august house of Pakistan’s Capital Market and allowing them the chance to open the trading day through the gong ceremony.
