Islamabad, March 23, 2021 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman on Tuesday said the strong coordination between public and the police was pivotal to control crime in the society. The top brass of police including SSP Operations, SDPOs, Zonal SPs and SHOs were holding regular meetings with people of different walks of life to listen their complaints through open courts, the IGP said in a statement. The traders community, Mosques administration, Bankers, ex-government officials and notables of the society were also being approached for effective policing in the city, he said.
This coordination, the IGP said had helped police in reducing criminal activities such as drug peddling, land grabbing and others. Islamabad Police had taken various initiatives to bridge gap between public and the police and it would continue to do the same in future, he observed. “Police ‘Jawans’ are always ready to protect the lives and property of the capital dwellers,” he noted.
