Islamabad, February 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): Minister of State for Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education Eng. Mohammad Baligh-ur-Rehman while having briefing on the project information communication technology (ICT) based educational services through provision of tablet to basic education community schools, said that along with ensuring the children presence in the schools it is also necessary to improve quality of the education.
He further said that it shall be a great leap forward to monitor the schools from a distance and to put the education in the computer. The project team informed Minister of State that better facilities shall not only be utilized to educate the children but also for the teachers to improve their teaching skills.
The Minister of State also proposed to trim massively the PC-1 prepared by the project team and proposed entirely a new idea and suggested them to initiate a new phase wise project, and in the first phase select only 1000 schools as pilot project.
Until 2016-17 hundred percent schools shall come under the purview of this project. This system shall provide the basic ladder on which we shall have to move forward. The Minister added that in this way we shall be able to make this project more marketable and be able to attract more donors.
