Saddruddin Rashidi assumes charge as Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Human Resource Development

Islamabad, June 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pir Syed Saddruddin Shah Rashidi, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has assumed the charge of Federal Minister and visited his office in Human Resource Development Secretariat today in Islamabad.

He presided over a joint meeting of newly merged divisions of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development into Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Division in which senior officials briefed the minister about their Divisions. Secretary Human Resource Development Mr. Abdul Khaliq briefed on behalf of Human Resource Development while Dr. Sarwar Zahid briefed on behalf of Overseas Pakistanis Division.

The Heads of Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BE and OE), Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), Workers Welfare Fund (WWF), Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) and Policy Planning Unit (PPU), attended the meeting and presented the functioning of their respective organizations/departments.

The Federal Minister assured his full cooperation and commitment in achieving the goals set by the ministry to explore the avenues for export of manpower and the welfare of more than 6.5 million Pakistanis living abroad through a well connected cooperation and coordination of Community Welfare Attaches (CWAs) abroad and institutional heads in Pakistan.

Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi also desired for such an environment where transparency and merit would be given priority. His briefing was followed by a visit to EOBI Headquarters also.
