Karachi, August 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Information and Archives and Labour Saeed Ghani while addressing a press conference on Thursday said that the leadership of Pakistan People’s Party was being victimized in the name of accountability. Saeed Ghani termed the measures being adopted by NAB against the leadership of the PPP as unconstitutional. The Minister said that exactly same thing was done against Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who faced capital punishment in a fake case. It was on the record that the superior judiciary apologized for the same but quite late, he added. He said that it was the only case in the judicial history of Pakistan which was heard in the high court instead of the session court.
Saeed Ghani said that even after the passage of five to six years the Supreme Court had yet not expressed its opinion on the reference which was filed by the then President Asif Ali Zardari in accordance with the constitution about the same case of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The Minister said that what followed was the filing of the series of fake cases against former President Asif Ali Zardari. He said that Asif Ali Zardari was arrested in fake cases like murder and possession of heroin. But even after spending 11 years in prison he could not be convicted in any of the case as they were completely baseless, he said. Saeed Ghani said that same was done with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto as she was indicted in fake cases and subjected to media trial.
Unfortunately, she had to attend the hearings of the fake cases filed against her in different cities in a same day with her children, the minister said. He said that the PML-N and the establishment during that period violated the constitution of Pakistan just to harass the leadership of Pakistan People’s Party. Saeed Ghani said that the time once again proved that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was also vindicated but no one apologized over it. The Minister said that same was being done against the present day’s leadership of Pakistan People’s Party that included former President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, MNA Faryal Talpur, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and other leaders of the party. According to the Minister they all were being victimized.
The cases against them had no substance, he added. Saeed Ghani said that through these fake cases not only a media trial of the leadership of the PPP was being done but also the constitution of Pakistan was being violated unprecedently. The Minister said that the way the former Chief Justice of Pakistan took suo moto notice of the fake accounts case followed by his orders to transfer all these cases to Rawalpindi even when all who were allegedly involved in the case belonged to Sindh was unprecedented. He said that this exceptional treatment of the judiciary while treating with the cases of the leadership of the PPP was mindboggling.
The Minister said that the case of the fake account that initially started from around 40 billion had now been reached to three hundred million. He said that even that amount was neither transferred to the account of Asif Ali Zardari nor Faryal Talpur but in the account of Zardari Group of Companies. The complete record of which was available, he added. Saeed Ghani said that since the leadership of the PPP was signatory of the same company that’s why they had been arrested. He clarified that Asif Ali Zardari was arrested even when he was not one of the signatories of the company. He questioned that why the other people attached to this fake account case had not been arrested so far.
He also asked that why Hasnain Mirza had not been arrested so far even when a reference had been filed against him. Why Khusro Bakhtiyar had not been arrested so far in assets beyond means case, the minster asked. He said that why Defence Minister Pervez Khatak, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Pervaiz Elahi, speaker Punjab Assembly, Chief Minister KPK Mehmood Khan and Prime Minister Imran Khan had not been arrested so far even when they all were facing investigation of NAB. The Minister said that Aleem Khan had also been released by NAB. He said that NAB even after claiming had never filed an appeal against the bail granted by the high court to all those who were facing serious charges.
Saeed Ghani mentioned that everyone knew how the name of former chairman NAB Qamar-uz-Zaman Chaudhry was removed from the NICL case, even when he was one of the board members. Saeed Ghani said that the way MNA Faryal Talpur was shifted to the Adyala Jail from hospital on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha was also unprecedented. The Minister said that everyone should keep this thing in mind that she had not been convicted as yet by the court of law. She was facing the allegations that would never prove, he added. He said that no one was being allowed to see her since the day she was shifted to the prison. Saeed Ghani said that the leadership of the PPP was even being denied the facilities that were given to Kuboshan, Abhinandan and Eshsan ullah Ehasan.
The Minister said that even Narindar Modi was not that much unjust with his opposition parties as Imran Khan was. He said that what Imran Khan was up to even a dictator had never meted out this kind of treatment with the political parties. Saeed Ghani said that even on Eid days when the relatives of those facing murder charges were allowed to meet their relatives the PPP leadership deprived. Saeed Ghani said that even the Judiciary and the media was being victimized by the PTI regime. The conspiracies were being hatched against the independent judiciary and the media, he added. He said that if Imran Khan wanted to show the world that the Narindar Modi was victimizing Indian media and judiciary then he first had to stop practicing the same in Pakistan. The Minister said that Imran khan in this way was in fact facilitating Narindar Modi.
Saeed Ghani said that Narindar Modi would tell the whole world what the regime of PTI was doing with the opposition, media and even the judiciary. Saeed Ghani said that it was beyond comprehension that Aseefa Bhutto Zardari – daughter of former Prime Minister – was not allowed to see her father on Eid day. Even the former President Asif Ali Zardari was not allowed to offer Eid prayers, he revealed. He said that all this was extremely condemnable. The Minister said that even the Hitler had not done the same to his opponents. He said that if Imran Khan was afraid of the leadership of the PPP then he should contest with them politically by responding to the queries of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari in the parliament rather than by victimization.
Saeed Ghani said that Imran Khan was trying to do what former dictators including Zia-ul-Haq and Musharaf could not. He said that the leadership of the PPP would face the conspiracies against them courageously as usual. They were never afraid of anyone or anything, he added. Saeed Ghani said that the tactics being used by Imran Khan were not in favor of the country as ultimately we would tell the whole world and the institutions of human rights about how in Pakistan the opposition parties were being bulldozed brutally.
Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on CMIT affaris Waqar Mehdi while addressing the press conference announced that the PPP would stage a protest demonstration on Saturday the 17th of August against the misdemeanor of the NAB officials against PPP MNA Faryal Talpur on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. Saeed Ghani also at the end of the press conference after receiving the reports condoled the martyrdom of the three soldiers of Pakistan Army who breathed their last in the line of duty at the Line of Control during a cross fire with the hostile Indian Army. The Minister said that the whole nation was standing shoulder to shoudler with Pakistan Army at this critical juncture.
