Saudi Arabia's Council of Ministers on Tuesday greeted the Arab and Muslim Ummah on the new Hijri year of 1440, wishing them a year of goodness and blessing, as well as security and stability for the entire world.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman chaired the weekly session of the Cabinet at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
Minister of Media Dr. Awwad Al-Awwad said that the Cabinet hoped that the advent of the new Hijri year would end the hotbeds of tension in the world.
Al-Awwad said the Cabinet expressed its satisfaction over the positive statistical indicators for the year 2017 contained in the 54th annual report of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), which was recently presented to the King.
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding with the government of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland concerning visit visas to citizens of both the countries. It endorsed an agreement with the Russian government for cooperation in the field of exploring outer space and using it for peaceful purposes.
