Secretary Industries visits Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority’s Head office

Lahore, May 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): Mr. Shahid Rashid, Federal Secretary Industries visited Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) head office today to review the status of PSDP Projects being implemented by SMEDA as well as the future direction that SMEDA is looking to adopt.

Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, Chief Officer of SMEDA welcomed the Secretary on this occasion and apprised him about current status of the entire projects. He also pinpointed the budgetary constraints decelerating the normal activities of SMEDA.

A presentation, given by SMEDA to the Secretary, revealed that some of the PSDP projects being executed by SMEDA were facing hardship due to funding constraints. SMEDA CEO Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Suckera requested the Secretary to extend Ministry of Industries’ support for release of the funds at government end for the projects which were being delayed at final phase of their completion.

Federal Secretary assured to take up the matter with concerned quarters in the government for obtaining funds for PSDPA projects to be completed by SMEDA.
