Karachi, August 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza visited FPCCI to attend a meeting of Women Entrepreneurs in Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). The meeting was arranged by Rizwana Shahid, Chairperson of FPCCI Standing Committee on Women Entrepreneurs which was attended by business women in large gathering.
The President FPCCI Zakaria Usman welcomed the Dy. Speaker Sindh and said that FPCCI has always encouraged the women business entrepreneurs and help them to introduce in international market through different exhibitions and trade delegations in different countries.
Zakaria Usman further said that Pakistani women has been playing vital role in the economic and commercial development of the country. He gave the examples of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Shaheed Banazir Bhutto who build the image of nation and the country as well on the international platforms and their entire life was sacrificed for the sake of nation and country.
He regretted the difference of living standards and facilities between urban and rural woman in all walk of life and suggested that women can better understand the problems of each other and business women should come forward to give awareness and technical trainings to the rural women so that they should be able to change their living standards and give better education to their children.
He stressed on establishing technical centre both in public and private sector where merit should be strictly followed. The President appreciated the efforts of Rizwana Shahid for the development of women entrepreneurs. Shehla Raza, Deputy Speaker Sindh expressed her pleasure to have meeting with women entrepreneurs on FPCCI’s platform and shared her business experiences with the gathering.
She appreciated the view of the President FPCCI for women entrepreneurs and said that their government in Sindh is very liberal in the matters of women but the inherited traditions in different tribes have been exploiting the rights of women.
She further informed that the scheme of Shaheed Bainazir Income support Fund is very popular amongst the women on both rural and urban areas. The beneficiaries of this scheme are mostly women.
She suggested to the Chairperson of Women Entrepreneurs Committee of FPCCI to form a Sub-Committee to listen the issues of women entrepreneur and submit to her for onward discussion with concerned authorities. She assured that she will strive to the maximum extent to resolve the matter of women entrepreneurs.
On demand of Rizwana Shahid for a training institute for women the Deputy Speaker Sindh said that a training institute is being recently completed in FB Area which will be handed over to FPCCI to run and equipped as a symbol of public private partnership. She said that this institute would deliver technical women for the industry. She assured her full cooperation to all women entrepreneurs on different platforms and government department.
