Shifting of mortal remains of Butt, Guru to IOK demanded

Srinagar, February 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Kashmir Freedom Front (KFF), Syed Bashir Andrabi, has demanded of India to return the mortal remains of Kashmiri martyred leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt Muhammad Afzal Guru, to Kashmir for decent burial. Syed Bashir Andrabi addressing a meeting of his party activists at Khrew in Pulwama said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people for securing right to self-determination would not be allowed go waste and the liberation movement would be taken to its logical end at all costs.

Muhammad Maqbool Butt was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984, for his leading role in the ongoing liberation movement. Muhammad Afzal Guru was sent to gallows in the same jail on February 9, last year, in connection with the attack on Indian Parliament in 2001. Both the leaders were buried in the premises of the jail.

Meanwhile, the KFF leader, Syed Abdullah Gilani, in a statement strongly condemned the continued raids by Indian police on the residences of party Chairman, Syed Bashir Andrabi, and other party leaders.
