Shutdown in Pulwama, Shopian against detention of youth

Srinagar, August 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown continued for the third consecutive day, today, in Pulwama and Shopian against the detention of innocent youth by Indian police. Scores of women took to streets in Pulwama and held forceful demonstrations against the continued illegal detention of youth in different police stations. They chanted anti-India slogans and demanded immediate release of the youth.

The arrested youth include Amir Hassan Ganai, Amir Bashir, Feroz Ahmed Kumar, Mudassir Wali, Abid Bashir Sofi, Rayees Bashir, Shabir Reyaz Wani, Irfan Bashir Sheikh and Adil Bashir Shiekh. Complete shutdown was also observed in Shopian against the detention of youth.
