Sindh Governor finalises arrangements for Pak-World XI series

Karachi, October 13, 2012 (PPI-OT): Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan Friday presided over a high level meeting in which arrangements for the upcoming two-match Twenty20 series between World XI and Pakistan Star XI were discussed and finalised.

The meeting was attended by IG Sindh Police Fayyaz Laghari, Col Shafiq of Pakistan Rangers, Commissioner Karachi Hashim Raza Zaidi, Administrator KMC M Hussain Syed, Secretary Sports Saeed Awan, Secretary Excise Manzoor Memon, DG Protocol Dabeer Ahmed Khan, KCCA President Sirajul Islam Bukhari, Senior Executive Engineer KESC Zaheer Khan, Chief City Warden Tehseen and senior representatives of KW and SB and civil defence.

Important issues with major emphasis on security were discussed at the meeting. The Governor directed everyone present to work together for the cause of Sindh and for the cause of Pakistan to make this event successful one. The matches will be played at the National Stadium on October 20 and 21 under floodlights. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provided all the cooperation in hosting the series.

Dr M Ali Shah, who is the chief organiser of the series, said the foreign players were excited to play in Pakistan. The two teams would be staying at a five-star hotel. A net practice session has been kept at Karachi Gymkhana for both the teams. KMC will host a reception in their honour on October 19.
