Sindh Governor for master plan to restore Frere Hall to original shape

Karachi, May 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan has called for preparing a master plan for restoring the Frere hall in the metropolis to its original shape.

He was presiding over a meeting of the Board of Trustees with regard to the preservation of Frere Hall Karachi, says a statement issued here on Thursday evening.

The Governor stated that the art of architecture and culture depict the ethos and values of a nation.

He said that the civilised nations take good care of their values and preserve them.

Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan said that it is his desire that all those places and buildings that have been declared cultural heritage be restored to their original shape.

He stated that the Frere Hall is located in the heart of the metropolis and is an important place. The libraries and gallery should be so restored that people of every strata could benefit from these. The Governor further pointed out that the buildings around Frere Hall should also be preserved.
