Special anti-polio campaign using injectable polio vaccine underway in Punjab

A special anti-polio campaign using the injectable polio vaccine (IPV) is underway in three districts of Punjab.

According to Head of Punjab Polio Programme Sundas Irshad, the campaign will be held in 113 selected union councils of Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.

She said that Punjab has reported 14 polio cases in 2020 so far. Sundas Irshad said that the government has planned this special campaign in which all the children between 4 and 59 months of age will be provided one dose of fractional IPV free of cost.
