Srinagar, August 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, special congregation prayers were organized in Pulwama, today, under the chairmanship of Hurriyet leader Syed Bashir Andrabi on the eve of martyrdom anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
Syed Bashir Andrabi, while paying glowing tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz, said that he was martyred but his mission was alive and would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs. He said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz had raised his voice against the illegal Indian occupation and brutal atrocities and always remained on front against any sort of oppression.
Bashir Andrabi also said that Kashmiris would remember the sacrifices of all martyrs time to time but it was responsibility of the Kashmiri people to continue the martyrs’ mission and take it to its logical conclusion. Others who attended the congregation included Muhammad Akbar Dar, Mir Aijaz, Abdul Hameed Sheikh, Aejaz Ahmad and Showkat Ahmad Butt.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops on 11th August, 2008, while he was leading a procession from Srinagar to the Line of Control against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.
