Srinagar, August 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s League (JKPL), today, organized a special prayers session at the Martyrs’ Graveyard on the eve of sixth martyrdom anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Aziz. Hundreds of Hurriyet leaders and activists participated in the prayers session and paid glowing tributes to Kashmiri martyrs particularly Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
Party leaders including Mohammad Ashraf Vaid, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Jaffer Kashmiri, Ghulam Qadir Rah, Engineer Fayaz, Shakeel-ul-Rehman besides APHC leaders including Zafar Akbar Butt, Javid Ahmad Mir, Syed Salim Gilani, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Hakim Abdul Rashid along with hundreds of pro-freedom activists participated and paid rich tributes to the martyred leader.
Amid pro-freedom slogans, the JKPL Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressed the gathering at the Martyrs Graveyard and paid glowing tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
Waza said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a noble and pious soul who actively played a role in the ongoing freedom struggle and on 11th of August in 2008 laid down his precious life for a noble cause while leading a sea of people on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road who were protesting against the economic blockade of Hindu fanatics as well as the India’s illegal occupation.
He said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a strong advocate of right to self determination and during his life-time he never succumbed before the oppressors.
