Statement issued by Vice-Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council

Islamabad, June 27, 2019 (PPI-OT): Syed Amjad Shah, Vice-Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, has issued the following statement:-

“The Attorney-General for Pakistan by virtue of his office is not the Appellate authority of the Pakistan Bar Council hence he has no authority to suspend the Orders of the Pakistan Bar Council. It is also made clear that this is the glaring example of misuse of authority on the part of the Attorney-General for Pakistan as he has indulged himself in affairs of the Institution of which he holds an ex-officio office of Chairman. Similarly, it is also proved that how Minister of Law has tried to play with the law in such an erroneous manner which is highly condemnable.”
