Syrian warplanes strike near Damascus during fragile ceasefire

In Syria, the government warplanes have hit areas of rebel-held Wadi Barada near Damascus amidst a fragile ceasefire.

According to Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, government forces and their allies had launched an operation in the area more than a week ago.

Several air strikes were also conducted in the countryside of Aleppo.

The forces also advanced against rebels in the Eastern Ghouta area near the capital, seizing ten farms.

The truce deal, brokered by Russia and Turkey, has been repeatedly violated since it began.
