Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Tahir Hussain visits Central Police Office

Gilgit, May 27, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Tahir Hussain visited Central Police Office today. On his arrival, the Inspector General of Police Gilgit-Baltistan CaptainĀ® Zafar Iqbal Awan (SI, QPM, PPM), alongwith the other senior police officers welcomed the respectable guest. Guard of honour was also accorded to the Chief Secretary.

The Chief Secretary alongwith the IGP laid flowers wreath on the memorial of GB Police Shuhada and offered Fatiha. Later on, a meeting was held wherein the Inspector General of Police Gilgit-Baltistan briefed the Chief Secretary on the security arrangements made to ensure conduct of up-coming general elections in a peaceful atmosphere. The Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan expressed his satisfaction on the security arrangement. At the end, the IGP GB presented a shield to the honourable Chief Secretary.

After the meeting, both the officers visited the Chinese camps at Sonikot and Jutial and inspected the security arrangements. They also visited Police Public School and College Sakwar and under-construction Police Colony Sakwar. The Chief Secretary GB expressed his dissatisfaction on the pace of work of the ongoing police projects.

IGP Gilgit-Baltistan places shoulder ranks to the promoted officers and distributes cash awards, commendation certificates to the high performers

Gilgit, May 07, 2015 (PPI-OT): Two separate gatherings had been convened in the central police office Gilgit today on 07-05-2015 wherein the first was related with placing shoulder ranks to officer who were promoted to the next ranks recently and the other was related with awarding commendation certificates and cash awards to the officers who have shown extraordinary performance in the execution of different cases which were attended by inspector general of police Gilgit Baltistan Capt. (R) Zafar Iqbal Awan.

The police chief has placed shoulder ranks to the promoted officers who were assisted by DIG crime branch GB Wasal Khan. Those who got promotion were Noor-Ud-Din who was promoted to the rank of inspector, Muhammad Iqbal who was promoted to the rank of sub inspector and Alamdar who was also promoted to the rank of sub inspector.

In his brief speech on the occasion the police chief has extended his heartiest facilitations to the promoted officers and directed them to enhance their performance to the further limits besides exhorting them to make themselves available to the call of duty. He further urged them to be a good source of wellbeing not only for the department but also for the nation and the country.

In the other gathering the police Chief distributed cash awards and commendation certificate to the officers who have exhibited exemplary performance in the completion of various cases assigned to them. Speaking on the occasion the police Chief said that the same practice of rewarding would be continued in the future and no stone would be left unturned in signalling out competent officers.

He further said that those officers who set a good precedent and bring a good name to the country, region and department would be remunerated accordingly in future. The gathering was attended by DIG Crime Branch GB Wasal Khan, SP Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Abdur Rahim and other senior officers.

Inspector General Police Gilgit-Baltistan for provision of fool proof security to Chinese Engineers

Gilgit, April 24, 2015 (PPI-OT): Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal Awan Inspector General of Police, Gilgit-Baltistan inspected Chinese Security Camps/KSF Check posts from Ataabad lake to Zero Point Khunjerab on 22-04-2015. The IGP inspected the security arrangements provided to Chinese by Karakuram Security Force (KSK) and directed to concerned security staff for the provision of fool proof security to Chinese Engineers and works.

The police chief issued directives for improvement their office/residential buildings/and turn out and allowed renewed building at Shamshal bridge for check post. The IGP listened all problems of KSF and KKSF and necessary directions issued for the betterment/solution.
