Karachi, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman has instructed the concerned heads of departments of KMC to immediately make arrangements for the auction of various licenses so that recovery could be enhanced.

Administrator Karachi has expressed dissatisfaction over the revenue collection of various departments of and has directed them to take steps to increase the revenue through auctioning of various KMC licenses.

He said that all concerned departments should ensure the implementation of the directive given in this regard and give it top priority. He said that the availability of revenue is important for any institution, it is necessary to speed up the recovery process in order to provide better municipal services to the citizens.

He said concerned departments should ensure better utilization of existing resources for increasing revenue and the revenue collection staff should be instructed that release of various license should be done without delay.

In this regard, the auction process should be carried out in a transparent and efficient manner, the directive issued by the Administrator Karachi in this regard has been sent by the Municipal Commissioner of KMC to all departmental heads with instruction of immediate.

Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman said that zoo elephant Noor Jahan is being treated by international experts

Karachi, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman said that zoo elephant Noor Jahan is being treated by international experts. The team from Four Paws continuously monitoring the condition of the elephant in the zoo and hope the with this treatment the elephant will get better soon.

Maintenance of health and provision of quality food to animals kept in Karachi Zoo is first priority and therefore all necessary measures will be taken to bring improvement.

He said this while reviewing the treatment and updates of the treatment of elephant Noorjehan of Karachi Zoo. Earlier the seven-member team comprising experts from the international animal welfare organization Four Paws conducted a detailed medical examination of Karachi Zoo’s elephant Noor Jahan on Thursday, and prescribed new medicines along with the existing medicines.

The team also suggested some changes in the elephant enclosure to provide a better environment for the elephant Noor Jahan, which will help in the treatment of the elephant. Dr. Amir Khalil, the head of the team of experts, expressed the hope that with the supply of medicines and better care, the condition of the elephant Noor Jahan will improve and her suffering will decrease.

He called the elephant condition better and hoped that the wound on the elephant’s leg would also heal in a few days, which would make it easier to move.

It should be noted that in connection with the treatment of the elephant Noor Jahan of Karachi Zoo, a seven-member team of experts from the international animal welfare organization Four Paws reached Karachi on the invitation of Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman and on Wednesday they performed successful operation and procedure besides conducting various tests as a result of which a hematoma disease was diagnosed in the elephant and the experts started its treatment.

On this occasion, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori was also present at the zoo along with Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman who thanked the experts from Four Paws and announced the establishment of a Veterinary hospital and modern laboratory at the zoo for providing instant medical help to animals.

Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has decided to construct a new council hall near Nipa Chowrangi

Karachi, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has decided to construct a new council hall near Nipa Chowrangi, the foundation stone of which will be laid on 27th of Ramadan. In this regard, a committee has also been formed under the chairmanship of the Municipal Commissioner, KMC so that the council hall can be built to meet the needs of the next hundred years.

This was decided in a meeting chaired by Administrator Karachi Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rahman on Monday. Municipal Commissioner Shujaat Hussain, Director General Technical Services Syed Azhar Ali Shah, Director General Parks Junaid Ullah Khan, Senior Director Media Management Ali Hasan Sajid, Director City Warden Raja Rustom, Senior Director State Sumeira Asif, Senior Director Imran Siddiqui, Director Council Abdul Rab, Team leader USAR Humayun and other officers attended the meeting.

Administrator Karachi said that the existing council hall was facing lack of space for the newly elected members and this hall was constructed 92 years ago in 1932, the seats of which were increased from time to time. All former mayors, deputy mayors, administrators, municipal commissioners, DCOs and directors of the council will be invited to the foundation lying of the new council hall so that all these personalities along with special guests will be present on the historic occasion.

He said that he will request the Sindh government to provide special funds for the construction of this council hall so that its construction can be completed as soon as possible. The meeting was told that when the municipality was given the status of a municipal corporation in 1933, the number of seats was 57 and there was enough capacity in the hall.

In 1953, the municipal seats were increased to 100, in 1960 the number of seats was reduced to 58. increased to 103, Under the changed local government system in 1979, the number of local government seats in Karachi increased to 166, for which there was adequate capacity in the hall. When the two-tier system came into effect, the Metropolitan Corporation Hall had 77 seats.

In 2001, the new municipal district system came into force, the number of council members increased to 255, for which there was not enough room in the hall, so in December 2004, the city council hall was renovated and the number of seats was increased.

Administrator Karachi said that the number of council members to be formed in the future will be 364 while the capacity of seats in the council hall located in the main office of KMC is 310. Opportunities are available. He said that the local government is the nursery of democracy and there are opportunities to learn the parliamentary system.

Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman has said that the renovation and repair work of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital has been started

Karachi, April 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman has said that the renovation and repair work of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital has been started which will be completed in the next few months so that better and modern medical facilities can be provided to the citizens. It is the third largest hospital in Karachi with 1000 beds, providing medical facilities to a large population of Karachi.

He said this while presiding over the meeting regarding the renovation of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in which Senior Director Medical Services Dr. Nadeem Asif, Director Medical Services Dr. Muhammad Nadir Khan, Medical Superintendent Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Dr. Naseem, Deputy Medical Superintendent. Dr. Saqlain and other officers were also present.

Administrator Karachi said that the trauma center of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital is being completely upgraded and 100 CCTV cameras will also be installed for security. Security is being increased in the hospital with more wardens. He said that the emergency ward, ICU, EUT and all other wards will be upgraded and modern medical facilities will be provided so that better medical facilities can be provided to the patients admitted in these wards.

He said that the medical facilities at the government level are less in terms of the population of Karachi, so there is pressure on the government hospitals and the doctors and staff who perform their duties here face many problems compared to the private medical hospitals. Administrator Karachi said that renovation of trauma center is being done with the support of UNO High Commission for Refugees.

Administrator Karachi said that KMC is facing shortage of resources and if various organizations and philanthropists want to serve the citizens of Karachi, they will be given full cooperation, he said that Karachi Institute of Kidney Disease is a good example of cooperation where free dialysis facilities are provided to people suffering from kidney diseases and medicines are also given along with the care of hospitalized patients.

He said that Abbasi Shaheed Hospital has a large number of specialists for all kinds of diseases due to which thousands of citizens visit Abbasi Shaheed Hospital every day. Despite the shortfall, KMC strives to provide better medical services.

As the resources of KMC increase, the hospitals will also be upgraded and all the facilities including medicines, X-ray, MRI and various types of operations will also be provided. In the meeting upgrading of the hospital was reviewed while other matters including purchase of latest machines for the hospital were also considered.

Administrator Karachi inaugurating the Research Department in Karachi Institute of Heart Disease Federal B. Area

Karachi, April 01, 2023 (PPI-OT):Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman has said that educational institutions are supported by research work and as a result of the research that is being done in medical institutions around the world, modern treatment methods and better use of medicines have been possible to control diseases, the publication of Research General is a matter of pride for any institution and it also motivates the researchers.

Administrator Karachi expressed these views while talking to media representatives after inaugurating the Research Department in Karachi Institute of Heart Disease Federal B. Area. Later he presided over a meeting with leading cardiologists of Karachi and said that doing research is not a trivial task and it is through research that the world has progressed.

Modern research has brought about a revolution in medicine as well as in different fields and those diseases which were not possible to be treated earlier are now being treated as a result of research which is benefiting the suffering humanity.

He said that Karachi Institute of Heart Disease is the second largest cardiac hospital in Karachi and today is significant because a formal research department has been established here which is the backbone of any institution. He said that KIHD will gain a prominent position in the world of general research and the latest research from all over the world will be brought to cardiologists through this general.

He said that through this medical student will also be able to benefit. In the meeting held on this occasion, Professor Dr. Tariq Ashraf was appointed as the Chief Editor of Research General. Chief Executive of the Institute, Prof. Rafat Sultana told the meeting that national and international cardiologists were included in the editorial board of Research General so that the best research work can be published in Research General, she said that seminars, symposiums and workshops will also be organized under the Research Department in which cardiologists will be invited to present their experiences and observations regarding heart diseases in the light of modern research so that the doctors and medical staff associated with this field can benefit. Prof. Waqar Kazmi, Prof. Tariq Ashraf, Prof. Zahid Rashid, Prof. Abdul Rashid, Prof. Arif Rahman, Prof. Hasina Chaghani, Prof. Dr. Sajida Parveen, Dr. Sajid Ali Khan and other cardiologists participated in the meeting. Karachi Zoo Elephant Health Governor Sindh and Minister Local Government Visit

Karachi, March 25, 2023 (PPI-OT): Governor of Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori has said we will not allow anyone to do wrong, there will be a full inquiry regarding the treatment and care of Noor Jahan, the elephant of Karachi Zoo, the allegation of political support is not true, action will be taken against whoever is found guilty in the inquiry, the administrator Karachi has been directed to submit a detailed report within three days regarding the care, diet and treatment of the zoo’s elephant Noor Jahan.

For the treatment of the elephant, the experts of the international organization FOUR PA will reach Karachi in 4-5 days. I have come to the zoo along with the Minister of local government so that if there is any administrative negligence, it should be removed, he expressed these views on Saturday, while talking to media representatives on the occasion of visit to Karachi Zoo along with Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman, Municipal Commissioner Syed Shujaat Hussain, Zoo Director Khalid Hashmi and other officers were also present on the occasion. Earlier, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah inspected the zoo’s elephant Nur Jahan and visited the zoo.

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori said that the purpose of coming here is to investigate the news circulating on social media regarding the health of elephant Noor Jahan. This is the issue regarding speechless animals and will not tolerate any negligence.

Administrator Karachi will inform the media about the facts regarding the information circulating on social media about the health and care of elephants in Karachi Zoo. Sindh Governor said that Karachi Zoo is a historical asset where more than 800 animals and birds are kept.

As I have been hearing the mention of Mumtaz Begum of the zoo since childhood, I will meet her today as well. Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that former President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the special care and treatment of Noor Jahan, the zoo’s elephant, and said that in case of shortage of funds, he is sending money personally.

He said that the zoo has some problems, they will be solved, a standard hospital will be built in Karachi Zoo for the treatment of animals. In particular, the shortage of doctors will be addressed here, and whatever needs to be brought in for the treatment of the zoo’s elephants will be brought in from outside.

Local Government Minister said that international organizations are also interested in the improvement of Karachi Zoo. In the upcoming budget of Sindh, a large fund will be kept for Karachi Zoo. He said that the Sindh government started the development works to improve the Karachi Zoo as the KMC was facing shortage of funds. Efforts are being made to make KMC stand on its own feet. Administrator Karachi Dr Syed Saifur Rehman is working to increase the income of KMC.

Karachi, March 24, 2023 (PPI-OT): On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rahman along with Municipal Commissioner Syed Shujaat Hussain and departmental heads of KMC visited Mazar-e- Quaid and on behalf of the citizens of Karachi, flowers were offered at Mazar Quaid and Fatiha was recited.

While recording his comments in the visitor’s book, he described Quaid-e-Azam as a great leader of Muslims and said that Pakistan came into being as a result of his great struggle, today is the day of Pledge of allegiance.

Administrator Karachi while talking to media representatives said that Pakistan is the fruit of great sacrifices and we should celebrate Pakistan Day in a dignified manner, he said that March 23 is the most important day in the history of Pakistan.

It is an important milestone, and after the resolution of Pakistan was presented today, the struggle of Muslims was further strengthened and the way for the establishment of Pakistan was paved. We have to forget our mutual differences and work for the development and prosperity of the country in view of the thoughts of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam.

He said that Pakistan is the destination of our dreams and aspirations, Administrator Karachi said in response to a question That KMC is trying to solve the problems of Karachi despite its limited resources He said that the rain water drainage process is going on and all the related staff and machinery have been kept active and the organization will do its best to ensure that the citizens do not face any problems as a result of the rain.

He also congratulated the citizens of Karachi on the arrival of Ramadan and said that this holy month is a month of blessings, blessings and happiness, we should take care of each other in this holy month. In response to a question from media representatives, he said that the construction of roads is going on and there are potholes on the roads. Priority has been given to fill them so that the roads remain motorable. Administrator Karachi said that the condition of rain drains is satisfactory and drainage of rain water is going on.
