Plastics/packaging industry in Pakistan is growing with annual rate of 15 percent

Karachi, August 18, 2016 (PPI-OT): Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Sameeullah along with vice chairman Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Nasir Saeed have jointly inaugurated the 14th International plastic and packaging Industry exhibition, Plasti and Pack and 13th edition of International exhibition for food and beverage technologies, Iftech food + Bev tec, inaugurated at expo centre on Thursday.

The annual international exhibition has become the hallmark of introducing the most innovative and latest technologies. The show offers latest in plastics, printing, packaging material and machinery for all manufacturing and processing industries along with food ingredients and chemical products.

The biggest participation is from China and Iran. The exhibition is well attended by 400 companies from 30 countries including Australia, Germany, China, Belgium, Austria, Italy, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Switzerland, Turkey, U.A.E, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam, offering latest trends and technologies for the related industries.

A unique feature of the food exhibition is the participation of college of tourism and hotel management, (COTHM), in collaboration with Chefs association of Pakistan, which has organized a, “Skill Showcasing Activity”, by professional chefs and COTHM students during the Three days of the Exhibition.

“Plastics/packaging industry in Pakistan is growing with an annual rate of 15 %. Its GDP share is 1.69 % and contribution to national output is PKR7.5 billion”, stated, managing director, Pegasus consultancy, Mr. Aamer Khanzada, organizer of the show.

The estimated investment in plastics sector is around $ 260 billion out of which 49 % is foreign direct investment, the industry overall imported machinery worth $ 545 Million in the year 2015,” he added.
Khanzada mentioned that,” Food, beverage and processed food industry is the 2nd largest in Pakistan after textile. Pakistan’s agro food products contribute 21% to the country’s GDP and it is the main source of livelihood for 45 % of the country’s population. “Our food processing market is one of the most important ones in South East Asia. The trade volume of processed food is near about $ 1.4 billion annually”. Mr. Khanzada, further remarked. The local and foreign visitors participated with latest technology, showcasing the latest product range from plastics processing, printing and packaging, including injection molding, blow molding, flexible packaging, extrusion machinery, Gravure/Flexographic/Offset Machines.

Along with these, food and beverage processing lines, bakery confectionery equipment, milk and value added product processing, meat processing, material handling equipment, inspection and detection instruments and slaughterhouse equipment were also on display list of IFTECH 2015. Beside all these technologies demonstration, many food producers from Iran and Pakistan are also being showcased at the exhibition. Foreign exhibitors book huge orders at Safe, Secure 2016

Karachi, March 03, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Three-day 12th International Safe Secure Pakistan-2015, exhibition concluded at Pak-China Convention Centre, Islamabad, on a very successful note as foreign exhibitors have booked huge orders worth millions of dollars on three days of the security show.

The positive presence of foreign exhibitors at the exhibition view Pakistan as a potential market for this sector as the local market has become quality conscious and are investing in latest safety, security and surveillance technology, they are glad over positive response during the exhibition.

13th International Exhibition of Plastics, Printing, Packaging, 12th International edition of Food and Beverage Processing strike $100 million deals

Karachi, September 03, 2015 (PPI-OT): The 13th International Exhibition of Plastics, Printing, Packaging and 12th International edition of Food and Beverage Processing have fetched over $100 million orders in the three day deals and bookings. The twin expos of technology and machineries ended up on Thursday here at Karachi Expo Centre received tremendous response from Trade and industry visitors on the penultimate day.

Biggest response received by the China and Iranian exhibitors as they received trade visitors in a big way and signed many contracts of machinery supply to the local entrepreneurs. Machinery at most of the stalls showing tag “sold out” with stalls holders brimming with joy after three most hectic days.

A number of exhibitors completely satisfied with the outcome of the three days extravaganza said that this show was a fruit of the law enforcing agencies months long efforts to restore peace and maintain law and order in the commercial and industrial hub of the country wherein business community has taken a sigh of relief after a long spell of fear and terror.
