Decision to upgrade Punjab police’s website finalized

Lahore, September 28, 2015 (PPI-OT):In order to provide information to the people regarding unclaimed dead bodies, missing persons and details of recovered stolen vehicles, the decision to upgrade the Punjab police’s website has been finalized today in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore.

(R) Arif Nawaz, Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP PHP Javaid Islam, Addl: IGP Legal, Ali Zulnorain, DIG Headquarters, Farooq Mazhar, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Establishment-II, Nawaz Warraich, DIG SPU, Tariq Nawaz Malik, DIG PHP, Salman Chaudhry, DIG Crimes, Dr. Azam, DIG R and D, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, DIG Monitoring, Shafique Gujjar, DIG Welfare and Finance, Jan Muhammad and other senior officers of CPO attended the meeting.

The meeting also decided that in future according to police order after completing the required formalities of unclaimed dead bodies i.e. photography, DNA tests, finger prints, post mortem, legal proceedings, the photographs of these bodies will be uploaded on the police website.

Moreover, the decision to made the homepage of the website more public friendly, all relevant information including the complete profile, contact numbers and photographs of all serving RPOs, CPOs, DPOs and retired IGPs was also finalized.

It was also decided in the meeting that a proposal will be submitted before the government regarding the amendments in law to bracket the Police Qaumi Razakars in official regulation. In order to bring the uniformity between the CTD and Investigation Departments, head wise details of terrorists, hardened criminals must be identical, the meeting also decided.

Various proposals regarding the uniform of the Specialized Protection Unit (SPU) force, promotions of police drivers, enforcement of biometric system, preparation of inventories and computerization of all purchased items were also reviewed in detail, besides, the rationalization of the provision of police force in districts.

This is right time that police should stay alert and standby with a view to get rid of tensions and fears among people by eliminating menace of terrorism: Inspector General Police Punjab

Lahore, July 30, 2015 (PPI-OT): This is the right and an appropriate time that the police force should stay alert and standby with a view to get rid the tensions and fears among the people by eliminating the menace of terrorism from the province. This was stated by the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, while giving directions to the field officers about security arrangements.

On the instructions of IGP, security has been beefed up and will remain on high alert across Punjab and patrolling was also enhanced around important Government / Non-Government Offices, Educational Institutions, Markets, Bridges, Flyovers, Underpasses, Bus Terminals, and at all entry and exit points of the cities across province. Whereas, search operations are also being conducted by the Punjab Police in all areas particularly Hotels, Restaurants, Tea Houses, Hostels, Guest Houses, Rented Houses and Residences of Illegal Foreigners.

In this way, during last 24 hours in all 36 districts of the province, 143 search operations have been made so far by the Punjab Police. During these operations, 1854 suspects have been arrested including 15 POs and 24 TOs (Target Offenders). Police also recovered a large number of weapons, ammunition and explosive material from the arrested suspects. During these search operations, police also registered 414 cases against these arrested persons.

Punjab Police always remained stand-by to foil activities and nefarious designs of terrorists: Inspector General Police Punjab

Lahore, July 29, 2015 (PPI-OT):Punjab Police always remained stand-by to foil the activities and nefarious designs of the terrorists with a view to secure the lives and properties of the people and in this way they will not leave any stone unturned for the purpose. I appreciated the performance and timely action taken by Faisalabad police today which saved Faisalabad from disaster as planned by the terrorists. This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while talking on telephone with CPO Faisalabad, Afzal Kausar just after the terrorist attack on police officials during duty.

According to details, around 10:30 a.m. near Hotel One, terrorists who boarded on Toyota Corolla bearing No. ICT-LV-231 were stopped by the patrolling police officials. But instead of stopping their car they started firing on the police officials, resultantly one constable Haseeb Ahmad No.6379 got Shahadat and one terrorist also died on the spot as a result of cross firing by the police officials.

Three police constables Ghulam Mustafa No.6659, Shoaib No.7075 and Zeeshan No.6734 received injuries. They were shifted into DHQ Hospital Faisalabad where Ghulam Mustafa and Shoaib are going through surgical process.

Police confiscated 02 Kalashnikovs with 10 Magazines and 169 bullets, 04 Pistols 9MM with 22 bullets, 10 Hand Grenades (Complete), 01 Hammer, 02 boxes of Mobiles, 01 blue bag, 01 Black Burqa, 02 gloves and 02 face covers from terrorist. On the directions of IGP the whole city of Faisalabad was cordoned off by Faisalabad police and the search operation is carrying on to arrest the rest of terrorists. The Shaheed Police Constable, Haseeb Ahmad was resident of Faisalabad Chak No.209 and his age was 28 years. He joined the police department in 2007. He left behind one widow and a young son. His Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered at police lines, Faisalabad after completion of the legal proceedings. IGP Punjab directed the CPO to provide immediately the funeral charges to the bereaved family and provide best medical facilities to the injured police constables.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Javed Iqbal has issued transfer and posting orders of Four Police Officers

Lahore: According to notifications, Rana Ahmad Hassan, SSP RIB, Faisalabad is transferred and posted as District Police Officer, Rajanpur, and Mr, Sohail Zafar Chattha District Police Officer, Rajanpur, transferred and posted as District Police Officer, Rayim Yar Khan, against an existing vacancy.

Similarly, Mr, Asher Hameed, awaiting posting transferred and posted as SSP Special Branch, Punjab, and Mr. Abdul Kareem, awaiting posting transferred and posted as SSP Investigation Branch, Punjab, with immediate effect.

109 years old retired Head Constable met Inspector General of Police Punjab

Lahore: Fateh Mohammad was born in Mudhki, District Ferozpur (India) in 1902 and joined the Indian Police in 1924 at a Salary of Rs. 17 per month. His first boss was SSP J.Scott. After independence he moved to Pakistan and served as an orderly with Pakistan’s first Inspector General of Police Qurban Ali Khan for 18 years.

When retired in 5th November 1965 Fateh Mohammad was serving as Head Constable in CIA, Okara. Mirza Fateh Mohammad is in good health and has got remarkable memory. He is presently residing in Chak 80 District Sahiwal. He has 3 sons and 2 daughters.

One of his son is serving for Punjab Police as a constable. Fateh Mohammad is proud of attended numerous public meetings graced by Quaid-e-Azam, Mahatma Ghandi, Subhash Chander Baosh and other leaders of repute.

IG Punjab Javed Iqbal praised the lifelong services of the old veteran and lauded his astonishing memory. He told the people like Fateh Mohammad were real asset of the nation. He assured of all his support of the police department to whom Fateh Mohammad has given the best years of his life.

The young police officers should prepare themselves to meet the security challenges

Punjab: This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Javed Iqbal while addressing to 13 trainees ASsP including one female at the districts attachment ceremony held at Police Headquarters, Punjab here today.

While addressing the trainees the IGP hoped the new ASsP should focus their attention in combating terrorism and curbing crimes by establishing friendly terms between the police and the Public. Thana Culture has a pivotal role in the police system but the trainees should not misuse of their powers, he added.

The IGP further maintained that the Government is paying a special attention towards organizing police force on modern lines, under which it was being equipped with latest technology and training for ensuring complete protection of the people’s lives and property. He advised the ASsP to ensure the easy access of the people to the police officers at every level to that the quick redressed of the people grievance being curtailed.

Inspector General of Police Punjab has issued four different provincial police officers to promote and effective implementation of policies

Punjab: A formal ceremony of signing of standing orders was held in the Police Headquarters Lahore. The ceremony was attended by AddI. IGP/Punjab Ch. Tanveer, Addl. IGP/R and D Khuda Bakhsh Awan, AddI. IGP/PHP Khan Baig, DIG/HQrs Aslam Tareen, DIG/Establishment Shoaib Dastagir, DIG/Legal Mohammad Ayub Qureshi, AIG/Legal Ehsan Ullah Bajwa, AIG/Admn Zulfiqar Hameed and AIG/Logistics Fawad-ud-din.

Considering the importance of collective wisdom for the first time in the history of Punjab Police, the four orders issued are; Police Executive Board, Policy Consultative Committee, Information Circulars and Procedures for Promulgation Administrative instruments and would enter in to force immediately.

Inspector General of Police Punjab will be the head of this executive board whereas all sectional/Departmental heads would be the member.

Regional, City, Divisional and District Police officers would be called if necessary. The board will meet once in a month but in case of any urgent issue which required immediate consultancy it could be called earlier.

The office of the Additional IGP Punjab will be board Secretariat. Executive board work as the cabinet of the IGP.

Strategic inputs on public safety, preparation of legislation and administrative regulations will be the prime responsibility of the board.

The board will also advise the provincial police officer on policy issues regarding annual provincial policing plan, administration report, budgetary and development proposals.

The board will also recommend the appropriate policies for dealing with complex operational challenges/situations that cut across administrative and institutional boundaries with the Punjab Police system.

Similarly, the purpose of the formulation of policy consultative committee is to provide a permanent forum for the executive board whose responsibility to assist the IGP in advisory capacity in the discharge of responsibilities entrusted to him as Chief Administrative.

The committee will hold formal and informal consultation with relevant stake holders to adopt comprehensive policies, proposals and recommendations on the issues.

Procedures for promulgation of administrative instruments would explain the procedures for the implementation of the decisions adopted by the board.
