Lahore, June 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) has launched ‘Master Training of the Trainers Program’ in Lahore for the capacity building of NGOs based in Punjab under a contract with Punjab Social Services Board (PSSB), Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Government of Punjab.
According to a company spokesperson, the training session will continue till 25th June in which 120 candidates from various NGOs will be trained as the master trainers so that they could further impart the acquired skills to the next tier of trainers; thus infiltrating the processes and framework of improved organizational management among their respective NGOs.
A session of two days training has been arranged in the areas of Governance and Office Administration while ten days will be consecrated to administer the trainings of Strategic Planning, Program Management, Fund-Raising and Publicity, Human Resource policy and Financial Policy. The trainings are being organized at Social Welfare Training Institute, Township Lahore.
The spokesperson further shared that TUSDEC has affianced three specialized trainers to disseminate the multifarious training sessions. Senior officials from Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Pehchan, Face Foundation, Roshni Welfare Organization, Help Foundation, Liberal Forum and Itahad Foundation are attending the workshop.
The trainings aimed at enabling the human resource of the NGOs to improve their capacities in various arenas, ranging from strategy, planning, leadership, operations, talent management, diversity, partnerships and synergies, evaluation, advocacy and policy change, marketing and positioning tactics and financial management.
Proliferation of NGOs on the basal levels of society is itself anticipative of the preferential socio-cultural shift we are heading towards where the only void is to inculcate effective organizational behavior, more analytical incisive and adaptive capacities among these non-profit organizations so that they would continue striving for the required social amelioration with a more structural overture.
TUSDEC has been engaged in managerial trainings as well as arranged for a myriad of technical and vocational training programs in collation with various local NGOs and international donors. Mobilizing its experience from both the turfs, TUSDEC has contrived comprehensible training modules which would prove to be operable for these NGOs.
For struggling countries like Pakistan, many societal crannies are oriented towards non-profit organizations for their fulfillment. Without significant efforts laid out to upgrade the organizational structure and attitude of these NGOs, momentous social improvements can not be hoped-for where ultimately tribulations are traced back to the inability of these organizations to deliver what they have initially pledged to keep.
It is obligatory for evolution in any developing economy that the NGOs working on most elementary avenues and closest to the their target communities are well-equipped in their management structures and procedures so that they can accomplish the goals they have originally set out to do.
