Islamabad, March 23, 2021 (PPI-OT): Islamabad police arrested eight outlaws including a bootlegger and recovered huge quantities of wine, narcotics and weapons from their possession a police spokesman on Monday. He said renewed efforts are underway to curb bootlegging and drug peddling activities in the city following the directions of SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer. He said SSP had directed all zonal SPs to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements.
SP (Saddar-Zone) Capt. (r) Hamzah Hamayun constituted a team under the supervision of DSP Malik Abid Ikram including SHO Margalla Police Station Inspector Abdul Ghafoor and others. The team on the tip off arrested a bootlegger namely Sajjad Mir Afzal and recovered 103 wine bottles and 128 tin beer and also impounded vehicle use in crime. Case has been registered against them and further investigation is underway.
Further- more Shahzad Town police arrested 03 accused Mushtaq, Waseem and Shahbaz and recovered two pistols along with ammunitions and 105 gram heroin from their possession. Tarnol police arrested accused Sadaqat and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him.
Shalimar police arrested accused Usman and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Banigala police arrested two accused Khurram and Zafar Mehmood and recovered 300 gram hashish and one 30 bore pistol from him. Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has appreciated the performance of personal and directed further effective measures against those involved in bootlegging or anti-social activities.
