Trade and industry takes sigh of relief in Eid holidays

Karachi, October 30, 2012 (PPI-OT): Trade and industry has expressed its satisfaction over the peaceful Eid holidays in the province of Sindh as no major incident hampering law and order situation happened in Karachi.

In a statement Chief Patron of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, S M Muneer, Chairman Mohammad Zubair Chhaya, President All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Mian Zahid Hussain and Vice Chairmen Niaz Ahmed and Najmul Arfeen while appreciating the efforts of Federal Home Minister, Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, I.G Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari and Additional I.G. Sindh, Iqbal Mahmood for controlling law and order situation particularly in the industrial and commercial hub of Pakistan – Karachi which has remained biggest target of street crimes, kidnapping for ransom, and activities of bhatta Mafia was not hit by any such major incident during four holidays of Eidul Azha. They said that it is good sign that the government is taking Karachi’s law and order situation seriously.

They particularly mentioned the efforts of Governor Sindh to have meetings with the FPCCI, KATI and other stakeholders and assured them of taking control of the situation and to curb the ever-increasing extortion by Bhatta Mafia and kidnapping for ransom. They also hoped that the provincial government would procure mobile phone locators at the earliest possible time and deploy additional police force in old town and industrial areas for the security.
