Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and USAID-AMD Project Coordinate efforts to increase the exports of Pakistani Agriculture Products

Karachi, August 19, 2016 (PPI-OT):The U.S.-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) project team led by Mr. Peter Dickrell, Chief of Party, and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) team headed by Secretary Ms. Rabiya Javeri Agha, met at the head office of TDAP in Karachi to coordinate and maximize ongoing trade and export development efforts through targeted support and facilitation of services to Pakistani exporters.

The strategic collaboration between TDAP and USAID-AMD project is expected to result in the effective utilization of resources, and will provide a structured approach to engaging international buyers at the various international trade show events, subsequently leading to an increased awareness of Pakistani targeted product lines, more sales leads and sustainable increase in agriculture exports.

The AMD project is a USAID funded activity with the goal of supporting the development of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture, particularly through improving the ability of Pakistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors to meet international requirements, improve market linkages and support supply-demand synergies between producers and buyers. AMD’s implementation strategy is underpinned by a strictly commercial and market driven approach.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is the leading institution for trade development and promotion in the country including annual participation in more than 100 international trade shows, providing support to trade delegations abroad and various other sector development and trade policy initiatives for boosting exports from Pakistan.
