Trade fair Heimtextil 2015 (14-17 January) Frankfurt, Germany

Karachi, January 15, 2015 (PPI-OT): Heimtextil is one of the largest international trade fair of world for home and contract textiles and the global benchmark for quality design textiles of innovative functionality. As the first trade fair of the year, it is a platform for manufacturers, retailers and designers.

This year around 2600 exhibitors from around 60 countries are participating in the event and like every year more than 60,000 buyers from around 130 countries are excepted to place orders in the event. Pakistan is the 4th largest exhibitor in the event with around 220 exhibitors out of which 48 exhibitors are participating under TDAP umbrella at Pakistan pavilion.

Pakistan Pavilion was jointly inaugurated by S.M. Muneer, Chief Executive, TDAP of Pakistan and H.E Syed HasanJaved, Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany on 14th January, 2015. Hometextile is one of the most important export industry of Pakistan and exhibitors from Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore and other important textile producing cities of Pakistan are participating in the event.

Pakistan’s export to EU have increased by around US$ 1 billion since the grant of GSP Plus status from 1st January 2014. Similarly, Pakistan’s export to Germany have also been estimated to have increased by around US$ 230 million in the period January to Oct. 2014 (i.e. 10months of the calendar year 2014).

This year’s event carries all the more importance when the European buyers are building upon their last year’s successful business partnership with Pakistan especially when Pakistan gotten back on the track to industrial progress. With the improvement in energy availability and less power cuts it is expected that through events like Heimtextil, Pakistan will emerge as one of the major player in the European textile markets.

In order to best market the products of Pakistan in Heimtextil this year, the TDAP has taken several steps:

The promotional stand at the entrance of hall 10 by a renowned designer to merge traditional art and modern textile design into an attractive display of Pakistani home and house textiles to all visitors entering the hall. The Pakistan Pavilion is constructed in recognizable modern design and colours.

The Pakistani exhibitors at Heimtextil 2015 are displaying full and attractive range of products in pleasing styles and vibrant colours. There would be continuous flow of trade visitors and the exhibitors will be able to meet with a good number of prospective buyers.
