UN stressed to unfreeze its resolutions on Kashmir

London, January 06, 2014 (PPI-OT): Kashmiri leaders including Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl and Ghulam Muhammad Safi at seminars and functions have pleaded for unfreezing the UN resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

One such function was held under the auspices of the International Kashmir Coordination Committee function connection with the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination in London.

Addressing on the occasion, the speakers said the deteriorating situation in occupied Kashmir asked for an international initiative on Kashmir, adding that the UN needed to launch its preventive diplomacy to bring to an end the massive human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir as peoples demand was right to self determination.

They said UN has failed to implement its resolutions. “The UN resolutions with the help of the trilateral dialogue can help find a solution to the Kashmir problem,” said Barrister Tramboo in his telephonic address on the occasion.

“Even after 66-years, the UN has not been able to resolve the Kashmir issue,” he deplored.

He asked the UN to play its role in resolving Kashmir issue. The JKLF-R also paid tributes to those killed in Sopore allegedly by security forces on January 6, 1994.

Addressing a function at National Press Club Islamabad, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, the convener of the AJK chapter of the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, urged the world community to shun its indifference towards Kashmir and impress upon India to fulfill its commitments with regard to the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir.
