Unity stressed to achieve goal of freedom

Srinagar, January 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq terming rumours about various constituents of Hurriyet as just media hype has called for leaving aside individual considerations and working through collective approach to achieve the long cherished goal of freedom.

Mirwaiz during a seminar on the Seerat of Prophet (SAW) in Srinagar said sometimes reality is different than what gets highlighted in the media. “Sometimes things get blown out of proportion,” he added.

“We are for freedom of expression and we don’t believe in stopping any views,” he said

Senior APHC Leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, who also addressed the gathering, stressed discipline among Hurriyet ranks. “Everything in this universe is in a floating state, be it earth or stars. But they don’t clash with each other as they move in a disciplined manner,” he argued. “If we adopt that kind of discipline and add to it the spirit of sacrifice that Islam teaches us, success would be our destiny.”

“Those people who have oppressed us, killed us, destroyed us and subjected us to worst kind of tyranny would ultimately be staring at their end,” he added.

The seminar was also addressed by another senior APHC leader, Maulana Abbas Ansari, who called for upholding moral values in daily lives as guided by Islam.

Former broadcaster and writer Ghulam Hassan Ghamgeen, and APHC leader Zafar Akbar Butt and a student Abid Nabi mesmerized the people by reciting Na’ats.
