WB to provide additional grant of $12m for TDPs of tribal district

World Bank will provide an additional grant of twelve million dollars for Temporarily Displaced Persons of tribal district for their rehabilitation.

An agreement to this effect was signed by Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs Noor Ahmed and the World Bank’s Operations Manager, Malinda Good, in Islamabad today (Friday).

The project will now also cover four new districts, including D I Khan, Lakki Marwat, Tank and Bannu in addition to Kurram, Khyber, Orakzai, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Mohmand and Bajaur.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Economic Affairs, Khusro Bakhtiyar reiterated the government’s commitment to support the development activities in merged areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
