Srinagar, November 20, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the children have been the worst victims of unabated Indian state terrorism during the past twenty-five years.
A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of Universal Children’s Day, today, revealed that the state terrorism in the occupied territory had rendered 107,491 children orphaned since January 1989. It maintained that 776 children were among the 94,110 civilians killed by Indian troops from January 1, 1989, till date.
Hurriyet leaders including Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zamruda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Fareeda Behanji, and a local human rights forum, Voice of Victims, in their media interviews and statements in Srinagar urged the international community to impress upon India to stop death and destruction in the occupied territory.
Leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Bashir Andrabi, in a statement issued in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Aali Kadal on their martyrdom anniversary.
The illegally detained Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, in a message from Kupwara jail said that the so-called assembly elections could neither change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir nor suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment.
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League strongly denounced the arrest of its leaders, Abdul Ahad Para and Muhammad Akram Najar, by Indian police.
On the other hand, people took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations in Kulgam against the arrest of innocent youth by Indian police. They demanded immediate release of the detainees.
