14 Newborn Babies Killed in Fire at PIMS Hospital, Islamabad

Islamabad: Fourteen newborn children were killed after a fire broke out on the third floor of the Mother and Child Health at PIMS hospital. Rescue teams reached the hospital soon after receiving information about the incident. Six fire tenders and four ambulances took part in the rescue operation, and the fire was brought under control.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Islamabad district administration has constituted a fact-finding committee to determine the cause of the fire. A notification issued by the District Magistrate stated that the committee would ascertain the exact cause of the fire and examine factors that contributed to its spread.

The district administration directed the committee to submit its report within twenty-four hours.
