14th International Defence Industry Fair 2019 at Istanbul, Turkey held

Islamabad, May 03, 2019 (PPI-OT): Lt Gen (Retd) Ikram Ul Haq, Secretary Defence attended the 14th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF-2019), which was scheduled from 30th April to 3rd May 2019. IDEF-2019 is held biennially in Turkey and features latest innovations in defence technology and equipment, Sponsored by a close friend of Pakistan and important defence partner the event provides a valuable opportunity to identify new avenues of collaboration between the two countries. It also allows interaction and exchange of ideas with defence leadership of visiting countries through side line meetings.

Availing the opportunity, Secretary Defence met with Gen (Retd)Hulusi Akar Turkish Minister for National Defence as well as Professor Ismail Demir, President of Defense Industries. During these meetings the dignitaries discussed matters pertaining to mutual interest, defence and defence industrial cooperation. Both sides explored the possibility of new avenues of cooperation to further enhance collaboration between the two countries.
