Karachi: Japan Power Generation Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange about appointment of Mr. Mohammad Mohsin as Company Secretary with effect from February 29, 2016 in place of Mr. Tariq Mehmood. Japan Power Generation Limited is a public limited company, incorporated on September 29, 1994 under the Companies Ordinance, 1984. The commercial operations of the company commenced from March 14, 2000. The principal business of the company is to generate and supply electric power to WAPDA. The shares of the company are quoted on the Karachi and Lahore Stock Exchanges of Pakistan. The registered office of the company is located in Lahore. The power plant of the company is also located in Lahore with an installed capacity of 135 MW. The company comprises of 24 diesel power generator sets of 5.65 MW each and is designed for operation using heavy furnace oil while start-up and shutdown operations are on high speed diesel oil. The company is pursuing the implementation of steam turbine project to generate electricity by recovering waste heat from exhaust of engines which will reduce fuel loss. The shipment of steam turbine has already reached the plant. The symbol “JPGL” is being used by the stock exchange for the shares of Japan Power Generation Limited.
