24 Million Citizens Benefit from Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme: Tariq

Islamabad: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary announced that 24 million people are currently benefitting from the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme. This information was shared during a news conference held in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the scheme offers a discount of one hundred rupees per litre on petrol, specifically targeting owners of motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqis, and small cars with engine capacities up to 800cc. This initiative acts as a targeted subsidy and has been rolled out nationwide. Chaudhary emphasized the simple and transparent registration process that has been introduced to ensure accessibility for eligible citizens.

He also highlighted the government’s austerity measures, including a significant fifty percent reduction in fuel allocation for official vehicles, in response to the current economic situation. Addressing potential political unrest, Chaudhary assured that the government is committed to maintaining law and order within the federal capital territory amidst planned protests by some political parties.
