5th Death Anniversary of Folk Singer Shaukat Ali Observed

Lahore: The fifth death anniversary of renowned folk singer Shaukat Ali was observed today. Shaukat Ali, born on May 3, 1944, hailed from a family of artists in Malakwal town, District Gujrat. He gained fame for his powerful renditions of Sufi poetry, showcasing a wide vocal range that captivated audiences.

According to Radio Pakistan, Shaukat Ali was honored with the Pride of Performance award in 1990. His contributions to music earned him numerous accolades, including “the Voice of Punjab” and “the Pride of Punjab.” Shaukat Ali passed away on this day in 2021 in Lahore, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire many in the world of music.
