8th Death Anniversary of Activist Nigar Ahmed Observed

Lahore: The 8th death anniversary of Pakistani women’s rights activist Nigar Ahmed was observed on Monday. She was renowned for her lifelong dedication to advocating for women’s rights and empowerment in Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, Nigar Ahmed was instrumental in founding the Aurat Foundation in Lahore in 1985, which became a pivotal organization in the fight for gender equality in the country. Recognized as one of Pakistan’s first feminists, her work laid the groundwork for many advancements in women’s rights.

Throughout her career, Nigar Ahmed received numerous national awards acknowledging her contributions to society.
