Acting President Calls for Unity to Ensure Country’s Development

Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has called for unity and sustained efforts for peace and development across the country: Speaking during his visit to Peshawar today, he said collective progress depends on cooperation among all segments of society and a shared commitment to national harmony and prosperity.

According to Radio Pakistan, earlier, upon his arrival at the Governor House, he was warmly received by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Provincial President Pakistan People’s Party Mohammad Ali Bacha, PPP Members of Provincial Assembly and other senior officials.

He also met with party workers, MNAs, MPAs and members of the Opposition. The Acting President was briefed on the overall political and law and order situation of the province.

Matters related to development, public welfare and coordination between federal and provincial institutions were also discussed.
