ADB President Endorses Pakistan’s Economic Reforms During Islamabad Visit

Islamabad: The President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to discuss ongoing economic reforms and future support for Pakistan’s development initiatives.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting highlighted the Prime Minister’s briefing on significant reforms including tax enhancements, energy sector sustainability, and increased social protections. These reforms are part of Pakistan’s commitment to achieving long-term economic growth and stability. The ADB President acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and reaffirmed the bank’s support, highlighting recent contributions such as the over US$ 1.5 billion aid for flood response and commitments to infrastructure and climate resilience projects.
