Afghans Launch Online Movement to Protect Women’s Rights

In afghanistan: a powerful online protest movement has been launched to protect the rights of women oppressed by the Taliban regime.

According to Radio Pakistan, an Afghan newspaper Hasht-e Subh reports the Afghan Taliban, using dress code violations as a pretext, have sent dozens of women to prison. Millions of people both within Afghanistan and internationally have joined the online campaign in support of the women of Afghanistan against Taliban oppression.

Human rights organizations, including the United Nations, have expressed deep concern and anger over the Taliban’s treatment of Afghan women. International experts opined that by closing the doors of progress to women, the Taliban regime is pushing Afghan society into darkness.
