Ahmad Zafar Hayat Wins 17th Chief of Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup

Islamabad: Ahmad Zafar Hayat claimed the title at the 17th Chief of Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup 2024, topping the leaderboard in the prestigious tournament, which concluded this weekend at the Margalla Greens Golf Club (MGGC). Irtaza Hussain secured victory in the Net Category, with other notable wins in the Senior, Ladies, and Junior categories by Alam Afzal, Humna Amjad, and Abdullah Khan, respectively.

According to Pakistan Navy, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff and chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony, commended the winners and all participants for their excellent skills and the high standard of play throughout the event. He also recognized the critical support from sponsors, media, and the management of MGGC, which contributed to the success of the four-day tournament that started on October 31.

The golf event attracted about 300 participants from across Pakistan in various categories and has been a fixture of the National Golf Circuit since 2007. The tournament is seen as a reflection of the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing commitment to fostering sports in the country. The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including military officers, organizers, sponsors, and members of the press.
