Ahsan Calls for Fostering More Inclusive, Responsive Democracy

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal underscored the significance of fostering a more inclusive, participatory, and responsive democracy. Speaking at an event in Islamabad today, he highlighted the need to revitalize local governments by ensuring predictable financing and clearly defined mandates. He said there is also a need to strengthen parliament’s committee system.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahsan emphasized the importance of creating a democratic framework that engages citizens more effectively and ensures accountability at all levels of government. He advocated for reforms that would empower local institutions, making them more effective in addressing the needs of their communities and enhancing democratic governance.
