Ahsan Iqbal Calls for Immediate Action on Pakistan’s Health Challenges

Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has emphasized the need for comprehensive action to tackle health challenges like diabetes, hepatitis, polio, and stunting. Chairing a meeting in Islamabad today, he highlighted that Pakistan ranks third globally for diabetes, first for hepatitis, and is among the leading countries in terms of polio and stunting.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister termed public awareness campaigns against such diseases beneficial and stressed the need to launch these initiatives without any delay. He emphasized the importance of stronger coordination with provincial governments to ensure that disease prevention and health interventions are carried out effectively. Additionally, he assured that the federal government would provide all possible support in this regard.

On the occasion, Minister for National Health Services Regulations and Coordination Syed Mustafa Kamal echoed the need for strong coordination with provincial governments to address the country’s health challenges.
