AIMMM Holds UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Accountable for Bahraich Riots

New Delhi: The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), a significant coalition of Muslim organizations, has accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of being directly responsible for recent violent incidents in Bahraich.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the AIMMM has voiced severe concerns regarding the ongoing violence in Mehsi and other areas of Bahraich that began last Sunday, alleging complicity of local police forces in the disturbances. The organization’s president, Feroze Ahmed, criticized the involvement of state police under the BJP-led government, which he claims has exacerbated the communal tensions.

Ahmed elaborated on the incidents, describing them as calculated and orchestrated rather than spontaneous. He called for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s resignation over his administration’s role in the riots. The AIMMM’s statements come amid broader criticisms of the Indian judiciary and law enforcement’s handling of communal conflicts, particularly highlighted by a recent controversial decision by the Karnataka High Court regarding provocations in a mosque.
