AJK Prime Minister Calls for Peace in Rawalakot Amidst Local Tensions

Rawalakot:Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Syed Iftikhar Gillani has called on the residents of Rawalakot to maintain peace. He assured the community that the government is dedicated to addressing the issues affecting the area.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a media briefing in Rawalakot, Prime Minister Gillani emphasized that his visit aimed to evaluate the existing challenges and devise practical solutions for the local populace.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significant sacrifices made by the people of Rawalakot in the history of the Kashmir freedom movement. He noted that in the past four elections, the community has consistently advocated for development and improvements rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.

Expressing concern over disruptions that have impacted public movement, Gillani pointed out that these disturbances have negatively affected the education system and created severe difficulties for patients seeking medical care. He questioned why the future of the younger generation should be jeopardized due to the actions of a few individuals, asserting that any actions damaging to the state cannot benefit public welfare.

Gillani criticized those involved in three hours of firing, stating that such actions cannot be classified as peaceful protests. He stressed that movements obstructing children’s access to schools and patients’ access to hospitals cannot be considered peaceful.

The Prime Minister concluded that no governance issue in Azad Kashmir warrants disturbing law and order, urging residents to uphold peace in the region.
