AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq Commemorates Kashmiri Martyrs

Islamabad, On the Martyrdom Day of Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq, Khwaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and the victims of the Hawal massacre, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq issued a special message honoring their sacrifices. The Prime Minister condemned the actions of Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and called for international intervention to address human rights violations in the region.

According to Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Haq stated that India has persistently targeted the pro-freedom leadership in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, citing the assassinations of prominent leaders like Farooq and Lone as examples of such aggressions. He emphasized that the legacy of these martyrs continues to inspire the Kashmiri freedom movement.

Prime Minister Haq criticized the ongoing repression in occupied Kashmir, describing it as an “open prison” where widespread human rights abuses, including arbitrary detentions and extrajudicial killings, are rampant. He expressed particular concern for the health of detained Hurriyat leaders and the demographic changes being enforced in the region.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Azad Kashmir’s unwavering support for the self-determination of Kashmiris and called on the international community to take immediate action against the injustices occurring in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
