Aleem Khan Directs to Expand Motorway Network

Islamabad: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed the authorities concerned to expand the motorway network. Chairing a meeting in Islamabad today, he emphasized the need for infrastructural enhancements to improve connectivity and address traffic congestion issues.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister announced plans to widen the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway from four to six lanes. This expansion is part of a broader initiative to construct the Sialkot-Kharian and Kharian-Rawalpindi segments as six-lane facilities, ensuring a more efficient transportation corridor across these regions.

In addition to the expansion plans, the Minister highlighted the urgency of completing the final phases of ongoing projects. He specifically mentioned the bridges on the Peshawar Northern Bypass, instructing that these works must be concluded before the onset of the monsoon season, to prevent possible disruptions and ensure safety.
