Algerian Ambassador Urges Karachi Business Leaders to Invest in Africa

KARACHI: The Ambassador of Algeria, Brahim Romani, has extended an invitation to Karachi’s business community to explore investment opportunities in Algeria, highlighting the country’s incentives for new investors. Speaking at the S.I.T.E. Association of Industry, Romani emphasized Algeria’s strategic position as a gateway to Africa and announced an industrial exhibition scheduled for December.

During his visit, Romani, accompanied by Syed Zaigham Hussain, met with key figures from S.I.T.E. including Vice President Muhammad Riaz Dhedhi and others. He detailed the advantages for investors in Algeria, such as expedited visa processing, free healthcare, and symbolic energy prices, and noted the benefits like land, electricity, and internet connectivity.

President of SAI, Ahmed Azeem Alvi, welcomed the Ambassador and outlined S.I.T.E.’s economic contributions. He expressed interest in a sector-specific collaboration and revealed plans for a business delegation to participate in Algeria’s upcoming industrial exhibition.

The meeting also addressed potential growth in bilateral trade, focusing on textiles, leather, vaccines, solar energy, phosphate, surgical instruments, iron reserves, food items, and IT products.
