Lahore: Lahore Arts Council, Alhamra, organized an event titled “Sham-e-Moseequi” in Lahore. Punjab Secretary for Revenue Shafqat Ullah Mushtaq was the chief guest at the event, which featured performances by renowned artists.
According to Radio Pakistan, renowned folk singer Shazia Reshman captivated the audience with her rendition of folk songs. She also paid tribute to legendary Pakistani music icons by performing some of their popular songs in her distinctive style. The event also featured renowned poet Khalil Ahmad Afridi from Rajanpur, who presented his poetry, receiving widespread appreciation from the audience.
Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Secretary for Revenue Shafqat Ullah Mushtaq highlighted the significance of Sufi and folk music as integral parts of Punjab’s culture, heritage, and spiritual traditions. Earlier, Executive Director Alhamra Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, in his welcome address, emphasized Alhamra’s commitment to promoting fine arts, language, literature, music, and cultural heritage through quality programmes.
