Islamabad: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has completed all necessary preparations to ensure the free, fair, and transparent conduct of the first phase of elections scheduled across Mirpur Division tomorrow. This was stated by Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Khushal Khan and Secretary AJK Election Commission Raja Muhammad Shakeel, while addressing a joint news conference in Muzaffarabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Secretary warned of serious consequences for any attempt to disrupt the polling process or disturb the law and order situation. Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary AJK Election Commission said polling material has been dispatched to the polling stations.
The Chief Secretary and the Secretary AJK Election Commission urged people to exercise their right to vote for the resolution of their issues in a democratic way. They also urged the public to reject misleading propaganda circulating on social media.
According to the Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Mustafa Mughal, polling will take place in Muzaffarabad on the 2nd of the next month and Poonch on the tenth of the next month.
